At Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ University, we recognize that each student's disability-related access needs are unique. Instead of providing one-size-fits-all accommodations, Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD) is committed to working with each student to identify their specific needs. SSD is the only entity on campus that can authorize student accommodations to ensure students have an accessible and equitable academic experience.
In addition to coordinating accommodations, a major part of the mission of SSD is to further Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ’s commitment to creating an environment where students with disabilities can fully participate, engage and thrive.
Mission
The mission of Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD) is to promote and facilitate:
- Equitable access to every student during their Ë¿¹ÏÊÓƵ journey
- The authorization of equal access accommodations for students with disabilities consistent with the Americans with Disabilities Act
- The promotion of a campus culture characterized by attitudes of respect and inclusion for all community members with disabilities
- Collaboration with on– and off–campus resources
Accordingly, the offices serves a multidimensional role as service provider, educator and advocate.
