Hearing set in settlement of case

A state district court judge hearing a lawsuit between ˿Ƶ and former owners of condominiums acquired by the University said Friday he will consider a motion for summary judgment in the case on Sept. 18.
˿Ƶ's Statement:
˿Ƶ appreciates the action of Judge Martin Hoffman in expediting a summary judgment hearing regarding the enforcement of the agreed-upon settlement. The University looks forward to an end to this long merry-go-round of litigation led by two plaintiffs who seem to have little regard for the educational goals of a nonprofit institution.
“They are going after additional resources that are being used by ˿Ƶ to educate students, give scholarships and serve the community,” said Lisa Blue, an attorney representing ˿Ƶ. “It’s time for these extortion attempts to end.”
